My Thoughts
Throughout the book I was actually pretty confused in some parts of the book. The plot of the was on the same track almost the whole book, but it was when a new chapter started it would be a whole new setting with a different thing going on. Overall though it was actually a pretty good book. I learned several things from the book. It taught me that people have a tendency to change once they hit a certain point in their life's. I also learned that the hood in Harlem is not a place that you want to grow up in. I think Myers wrote this to get across to readers that no matter where you grow up you can always stay true to what is good in this world and not fall to evil.
In the end I give this book 8 out of 10. It is pretty well written and has a good moral to it. I would recommend this book to teenagers only because it has more stuff in it that younger kids most likely won't get. I also recommend it because it is a novel that involves a decent amount of information on the life of a person growing up in Harlem and how difficult it is for a young man.
